The People’s Alliance Team, comprising members of the Women’s Wing and Youth Wing, successfully carried out a weeklong awareness program across villages and communities in Wailevu, Labasa, Seaqaqa, and Dreketi.
The program included sessions at Laucala, Natua, Valeni, and Dromuninuku Villages in Wailevu, where community members warmly welcomed the team and engaged in discussions on issues affecting families and communities.
In Labasa Town, the team met with women representatives from Cikobia, Nasekula, Cawaira, Siberia, and Tuatua Housing. The session was strengthened by the presence of Party President Ratu Jo Dimuri, whose encouragement inspired participants.
The awareness program continued in the Seaqaqa commercial area, engaging women representatives from Nasevudrua, Tikina Sasa, Nanenivuda Settlement, Batiri, Korovuli, Buavou, Naramaka, Tadravula, Waimala, Viunimako, Nacereyaga, and Seaqaqa Housing. The team also visited Nanenivuda Village, where community members shared their views on issues that matter most to them.
The week concluded in Dreketi, where the team, led by Bulou Lelea Senikuba, presented their sevusevu to the Vunivalu of Dreketi before holding their first awareness meeting with women representatives from Nabavatu, Nasigasiga, Vunisea, Nadoivivi, and Nakanacagi. This traditional ceremony reflected the Party’s deep respect for the Vanua, customary leaders, and landowners.
Throughout the week, the sessions focused on sharing the Party’s vision and listening to the voices of women and youth on challenges facing their communities. The People’s Alliance Party reaffirmed its commitment to working hand in hand with the Vanua and indigenous landowners to ensure development is delivered with respect, unity, and lasting benefits for all Fijians.
