
A proud and historic milestone was celebrated in Kasavu Village, Naitasiri, as the Yavusa Vugalei officially regained 73.17 acres of ancestral land from the Government. The handover was conducted by Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo, who presented the land title to the community, marking another important step in restoring land to its rightful traditional owners.
Minister Vosarogo encouraged the people of Yavusa Vugalei, particularly the younger generation, to seize this opportunity by leading income-generating initiatives that will benefit families and future generations. He emphasized that the land should now be transformed into a source of prosperity, opportunity, and long-term economic growth.
The People’s Alliance Government reaffirmed its commitment to restoring justice, respecting iTaukei land ownership, and empowering landowners to use their land productively. This historic return of land symbolizes both cultural restoration and economic empowerment, ensuring that future generations of Yavusa Vugalei can thrive on their ancestral soil.
