The People’s Coalition Government continues to deliver projects that improve the lives of Fijians. More than 250 residents of Navunisaleka Settlement, Kalabu, Naitasiri now have safer and easier access across the stream with the new foot crossing, officially opened by Hon. Sakiasi R Ditoka, Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management.

Project Overview

Funding: Over $36,000

Purpose: Replace unsafe makeshift bridge

Beneficiaries: Children, elderly, persons with disabilities, and the wider community

Improved daily life and peace of mind for residents

Leadership and Community Response

Hon. Sakiasi R Ditoka emphasized that this project is more than just infrastructure—it is about improving lives and supporting community development. Village Headman Mr. Seremaia Saga and residents expressed gratitude, noting the transformation in their daily routines. Families, like that of Adi Reki Kapaiwai, highlighted the safety and reassurance the new crossing provides.
