A new $4 million bridge has opened in Vunikawakawa, Tikina Wailevu, Labasa, bringing relief to families who previously had to float their children across a river in pots to get to school.
It was officially commissioned by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka during his 10-day tour of the Northern Division. For villagers like Luisa Mereani, the bridge represents hope and a brighter future.
It stands as a sign of real progress and change, made possible by the Coalition Government.
